GOVERNMENT HOUSE,

22nd. July, 1915.

With reference to my Confidential Despatch of

the 11th. March on the subject of trade marks registered in the

names of enemy subjects and firms, I have the honour to inform you

2.

A certain Mr. Bertram Webb, who was formerly

in the employment of Messrs. Arnhold Karberg and Company here, but

who left their service in June, 1913, has obtained agencies from

two firms who for many years shipped piece goods to Messrs. Arnhold Karberg and Company, i.e. Messrs. Geo. Fraser Son and Company, Limited, of Manchester, and Messrs. Ceo. Richardson and Company, Limited of Bradford and Manchester. Applications have been received from these two firms for permission to continue shipping their goods to Hongkong, through Mr. Webb, with the same marks as were used when the shipments were to Messrs. Arnhold Karberg and Company,

Messrs. Geo. Fraser Son and Company, Limited,

marks know as the "E.K." and "D.K." marks. The "Fox and Duck" mark is registered in the joint names of Kesers. Geo. Fraser Son and Company, Limited, and Messrs. Arnhold Karberg and Company, but it is said to be the sole property of the former firm. Messrs. Gec. Richardson and Company, Limited's mark is an unregistered mark.
